Introduction to Rock Climbing
Take on the great outdoors with our Introduction to Rock Climbing Course. This immersive two-day course is perfect for those wanting to learn how to top/bottom rope outdoors safely. Our experienced instructors will teach you everything you need to know, including basic rope skills, climbing techniques, and safety procedures. With this highly practical course, you'll be on your way to becoming a confident and capable outdoor climber.
Our Introduction to Rock Climbing program covers all of the essential skills you need to become a confident climber.
You'll learn about knots, belaying techniques, falling and holding falls, creating anchors, and assessing natural anchors, as well as crag etiquette, understanding different environmental factors, and choosing appropriate crags and routes for your level of experience.
Our experienced guides will be with you every step of the way.
Day one you will learn the key safety skills and put them into practice at the infamous Avon Gorge, Bristol. Once you have learnt the basic safety skills, we will encourage you to progress at your own pace, climbing routes within your ability and gaining as much experience with your newly acquired skills.
Day 2 will be at Cleeve Hill, Gloucestershire consolidating your new skills, going through some problem solving scenarios, as well as learning how to rig your own top rope climbs. Over the 2 days you will also receive coaching on your climbing movement and technique by our experienced instructors, as well as a full debrief at the end of the course with personal feedback on what to improve and the next steps in pursuing your sport further.
